Formed in 2017 as Black Sheep Training, our company has utilised the experience of community organisations, training companies, private companies, local charities, council officials and housing associations to utilise the space offered in community assets and charity run venues.

This space, in-need of vital help to achieve sustainability, will prove a vital learning & work experience platform for young people looking to gain experience in the Construction Industry

A LEARNER DRIVEN CONCEPT

The most vital part of our model builds around an ethos of learning. Our embedded values provide an effective inclusive model for ADRESSING SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL, BEHAVIOURAL & WELLBEING needs as well as good morals. Our learners will have an understanding and prepare for challenges faced in the workplace, whilst still being a the centre of our teaching, allowing them to progress at their own pace, in a safe and encouraging environment.

From a few hours per day through to full programme learning your people can join us on varying projects throughout the locality learning skills such as Demolition, Painting, Decorating, Refurbishment, Plaster-boarding, Carpentry, Gardening, Block Laying and more.

There truly is something for everyone with TEAMWORK at the forefront of all we do. As menial as its sounds our young people will also learn simple skills like ordering materials, using measuring tapes, material estimation, budget, time constraints, identifying and using hand tools, PPE importance, awareness of the surroundings and safety, dealing with peers and the
public…..and even making a GOOD cup of BUILDERS TEA!!

As one of the people to be involved in this project, I can't emphasize enough the professionalism, enthusiasm, and belief of every single person that have made this well worth while venture a reality, only two weeks of actual work off these inspiring young lads, and I can't help but feel this is going to be very beneficial for every single one of these young lads future! as they make the transition from school life into work life.
